12 Business Card Blunders to Prevent Networking

The lowly business card : we don’t give it another thought before we get the thing printed up, and we simply do what everybody else does. A lot of men and women, new in company, get the company card published before they’re willing to, which causes many of the mistakes that I record below. In both circumstances, experienced or new, we’re missing huge opportunities to allow your business card take some of their work off your own shoulders. Advertising a free email accounts as your business email is just plain unprofessional.

3. Glossy cards you can not write on. Okay, that is my pet peeve. It’s true, you can get these cards printed at no cost on the Internet. That sends a loud message that you don’t even have the money for business cards which you do everything on the cheap. That isn’t what I want people to consider my organization.

4. A web site address printed on the card that isn’t up yet. When I get a business card from you, I’m very likely to see your web site to learn more. If it doesn’t come up, it tells me one of 2 things: you did not pay your hosting company or webmaster, or you have not gotten to this job yet. Both are bad messages to send.
